Racing days in Mauritius
1975
Several beautiful Images taken while boat builder Nöel Maurel was building her in his garden in Pereybere.
Launch day – 25 June 1975 A special peer had to be built to launch her in Grand bay.
She won all local regattas entered that year.
1976
Cape to Rio Regatta. The crew sailed Mauritius to Cape Town in record time, but were becalmed (de-winded) during the race due to “taking a short cut” through high pressure system.
1977
Blue Shadow wins ‘Boat of the Year‘ at Grand Baie Yacht Club, Mauritius
1979
Won all regattas including Semaine de la voile with Éric Tabarly at helm.
